Leaders Club
9th - 12th grades
Thursdays 7:00pm - 8:30pm
Program Fee of $20 for the school year

Jr Leaders Club
5th - 8th grades
Tuesdays 6:00pm - 7:30pm

Both Leaders and Jr Leaders Clubs are Nationwide YMCA programs for teens that teach young people leadership through character development training, service learning and social development with the outcome of personal growth. Participants have the opportunity to attend regional conferences throughout the year.



7th - 12th grades
Mondays 6:30pm-8:00pm
Runs September through March

Nationwide YMCA program with the motto "democracy must be learned by each generation." Participants have the opportunity to craft and defend their own bill and to attend conferences on regional, state and national levels.

Leaders In Training (L.I.T.) Volunteer Program
Are you a teen looking to develop real leadership potential? Here's your chance to do so! The Leaders in Training Program offers a number of valuable training and plenty of hands on experience to prepare any teen with the necessary skills to thrive in any work environment. Available at our Hal Welsh East Area Family, Northwest Family, and Southwest branches.

This program runs multiple sessions throughout the summer from 9:00am - 4:00pm Monday through Friday.

JR C.I.T Program at the Hal Welsh East Y

Junior Counselor in Training Program for Ages 12-13
Monday - Friday, 9-4 Summer Weeks 2-8
The YMCA Jr C.I.T program is a supervised leadership development program that allows candidates to develop their leadership skills throughout assisting with various summer camps. Jr C.I.Ts must commit to at least 3 weeks of camp.
