The YMCA of Central New York is excited to be involved in this nationwide movement as we welcome immigrants and newcomers to our communities. 

Welcoming Week is a time to celebrate the values that unite us and to make our community more welcoming to newcomers and to everyone who calls Central New York home. Join us at free events across CNY throughout September! 

Friday, September 9th - September 18th
Food Drive for the Northside Women's Center Food Bank

The Y's Northside Women's Center is partnering with all of our branches to offer a food drive during Welcoming Week for the center's pantry. A list of desired, culturally-supportive foods can be found here.  


CNY International Food Passport

Central New York is home to a number of immigrant-owned and run restaurants that celebrate international cuisine. Our team has compiled a list of some of the restaurants in CNY, and hope that you'll enjoy exploring the world's cuisines right here in our neighborhood. Family Movie Night: The Book of Life

at the Hal Welsh East Area Family Branch

Bring your family to the Hal Welsh East Area Family branch in Fayetteville for a night of family fun as we watch a The Book of Life (2014) together. We will provide free popcorn and run our popular Family Fun Night alongside the movie! No registration required. FREE to members.  

The Book of Life is a 2014 American 3D computer-animated musical fantasy comedy film. It is rated PG and runs 1h 35mins in length.

Experience Bollywood Dancing with Seema Sureshkumar. This event will be taking place in the Group Exercise Studio at the Hal Welsh East Area Family branch in Fayetteville. Please join us! Please come in comfortable clothing and be ready to move! We encourage you to bring water.
