Thanks to funding provided through Governor Kathy Hochul's NY SWIMS Initiative and the New York State Department of Health, the YMCA of Central New York is able to offer free swim lessons to help more children ages 6 months to 12 years gain lifesaving water safety and swimming skills.
This initiative is designed to expand access to swim lessons for children who may otherwise face barriers to participation. Program availability and eligibility vary and are determined locally based on community needs and available capacity.
Please note that these lessons are intended for kids and families living within the service area of the YMCA of Central New York (Syracuse, Onondaga County, and the surrounding area). We are unable to answer questions about how your local YMCA may be participating in this opportunity.
