Please join the YMCA of Central New York for a virtual lunchtime seminar with Dr. Jeanne Lomas, DO on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 from 12pm-1pm. In this “Allergy Awareness for Families and Caregivers” seminar, Dr. Lomas will help us to better understand common sources of indoor and outdoor allergens, identify symptoms of a life-threatening allergic reaction, and demonstrate how to treat it using an epinephrine autoinjector. This educational seminar may be particularly helpful to caregivers, families, educators, and others who have or work with individuals who may experience allergic reactions.
ABOUT OUR SPEAKER
Dr. Jeanne Lomas, DO is a board-certified pediatrician and allergist-immunologist. She completed medical school at LECOM in Erie, PA before moving to Rochester, NY for her pediatrics residency. She stayed at the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) for fellowship training in allergy and immunology and remained on staff as faculty in Rochester until 2021 when she joined WellNow as the director for Allergy and Immunology. She is passionate about patient care, education and community advocacy. In her clinical practice, Dr. Lomas sees patients of all ages with diagnoses such as seasonal/environmental allergies, asthma, atopic dermatitis (eczema), food allergies and medication allergies. Her special interests include EoE/eosinophilic gastrointestinal disease, FPIES and antibiotic stewardship. She has presented various allergy topics locally, regionally and nationally. Dr. Lomas is also actively involved in clinical research through WellNow, where she oversees trials with patients having a variety of conditions including COPD, asthma and eczema.
