Dear YMCA Members,
We want to share an important update regarding a regional water issue currently impacting parts of Central New York. Local officials are asking residents and organizations in affected areas to reduce water use to help maintain water pressure and ensure continued service for our community.
Two of our branches: the Hal Welsh East Area Family YMCA and Manlius YMCA, are located within the impacted area. To support our neighbors and help preserve water supply, we are asking for your partnership when visiting these locations.
How you can help at Hal Welsh East and Manlius:
- Please try to take shorter showers and turn water off while soaping.
- Consider skipping a shower at the Y and and showering at home instead, if you live outside the impacted area.
- Be mindful of overall water use in locker rooms and restrooms.
Even small actions can make a meaningful difference during this time! We are actively monitoring the water usage and pressure at these locations and will keep members informed if any operational adjustments become necessary at our branches.
